The House has finally Arrived!

First of all, I want to say sorry that I didn’t really post much content last week! I was so busy prepping to close on my house on that Friday! But there is no more wait, I am officially a homeowner now πŸ™‚ I wasn’t able to get everything I wanted fixed, but I was able to get it $13,000 dollars Β lower then what I had originally offered (due to the appraisal coming in lower). So here it is guys, my first home!

It isn’t anything too fancy, but it is mine πŸ™‚

Now here are the before pictures from as soon as going into the house the first night.

Now this is my progress through the weekend!

Bedroom #1; Saturday; My mom and I primed the whole room, and painted the trim. As you can see, the flooring underneath was hardwoods, but all those stains were previously there. That is why they had it covered to begin with.

Bedroom #1; Sunday; I’m not sure if you can tell or not, but my dad tore down the crappy crown molding and began replacing it with new crown molding! It looks so much better now πŸ™‚

Bedroom #2; Sunday; Primed with a a grey primer to get that ugly orange off. Now it’s looking a lot better!

So that is what we got done this weekend! I am super excited and can’t wait to continue showing you the great work and projects I have to come! Oh and also, the seller left this near brand-new, but very dirty crock pot at the new house too! You can never have too many crock pots! So we cleaned it out, and it looks like I’ll probably have to post some dishes made at the house while were working!

With Love,

  2. Yay – home ownership! The work is just starting, you’ll never be done… But not to worry – the previous owners left you that cool giant pink thing to keep you company during the long hours of painting!!! My first house had paint stains all over the nice hardwood floors that my husband and I found after pulling the carpet up. I found, though, that they came off with a lot of elbow grease and some simple green cleaner, so if you like the hardwood, it’s worth a shot.

    1. I thought about redoing the hardwoods, sanding the paint off and refinishing them but we have 3 dogs, so I’d hate to restore them and then the dogs nails just tear them up :/ And when we looked at the floors under the carpet in the living room, there wasn’t any hardwood, So I’m planning on putting some of that snap in wood laminate flooring throughout all the rooms. That way it at least all matches. And then we’ll have tile in the bathroom and kitchen.
